Permanent Residency
Permanent Residency can be applied for on an annual basis, with the following conditions:
- Must maintain a place of abode in Antigua (leased or rented)
- Physical presence of at least 30 days
- Have a minimum annual income of $100.000
- Payment of a flat tax of US$20,000 per annum
- Permanent Residents receive a certificate of residency and a TIN (Tax Identification Number)
Tax Resident Status
Income Tax Act Cap. 212 of the Laws of Antigua and Barbuda “resident in Antigua and Barbuda” for an individual, that-
- his permanent place of abode is in Antigua and Barbuda, and that he is physically present therein for some period of time in the basis period for that year of assessment
- he is physically present in Antigua and Barbuda for not less than 183 days in the basis period for that year of assessment; or
- he is physically present in Antigua and Barbuda for some period of time in the basis period for that year of assessment and such period is continuous with a period of physical presence in the basis period for the immediately preceding or succeeding year of assessment of such duration as to qualify him for the status of a resident for such preceding or succeeding year under sub-paragraph
- he is physically present in Antigua and Barbuda for not less than 30 days in the base period for that year of assessment and is the holder of a permanent resident certificate”(“permanent resident certificate” has the same meaning as assigned to it in the Immigration and Passport Act.
Required documents:
- Passport-size photograph
- Valid passport
- Medical insurance certificate
- Police certificate for each applicant over 16
- Proof of an annual income of at least $100.000
- $20.000 annual flat tax receipt
- Proof of relationship to dependents, such as a birth or marriage certificate
